A decade ago, Yamaha launched an intrigue, introducing the concept of multi-wheeled bikes Tesseract and OR2T to the world. In 2015, appeared three-wheel model MWT-9 – in contrast to the classic layout of the trikes, the double was the front pair of wheels. And so, in 2018, the series receives an incredible Niken.
Yamaha Niken is a road monster, a steel beast 2.15 m long and 0.88 m wide. The massive fairing, somewhat similar to the flattened version of the Triumph 675, hides the fastening of the two front racks ending in 15-inch wheels. Double forks, independent suspension, a completely new dynamics of maneuvering and cornering.
Developers Yamaha Niken plainly say that their offspring will become the most reliable and steady on the road bike in the world. Even without the qualifications of an experienced pilot – the trike is designed so that deliberately turn it during a ride is akin to a feat. Judging by the advertising video, this is not at all empty words, but technical information is still not enough.
Officially, the Yamaha Niken model should be presented at the EICMA, which will be held on November 6 this year. And there are good reasons to believe that this time it will not be about the concept, but completely ready for serial production of the machine.
