Specialists of the Russian concern RTI have developed a unique radar for detecting small-scale ground targets. With his help, for example, now you can find soldiers of the alleged enemy, hiding in a dense forest.
The device was named “Multifunctional Airborne Radar Complex for Remote Sensing of the Earth”. In addition to “living” purposes, it can be used to carry out hydrometeorological monitoring of the Arctic and the shelf, accurate mapping, to detect less visible roads and trails, and to determine the coordinates of the enemy’s ground and surface targets.
The prototype has already passed the first ground and bench tests, on the queue – flight tests. The main potential customer is the Russian Air Force. A unique device will be installed on prospective aircraft and helicopters. Its dimensions are 200 x 40 cm (length, width, height) and power consumption – 1.5 kW.
